So I made the daily trip to Starbucks for my refill. I walk in, and since there isn’t anything resembling a line, and belly up to the counter. Since I have my cup there with the lid off they naturally assume I’m there for my free coffee refill.
Then there’s the new guy. I haven’t seen this guy before. Maybe his shift started at 10:00am. And of course, I walk in at 10:07am. He instinctively reaches for my empty cup and asks, “decaf ?”. Without a moment’s hesitation and lack of filter, I declare, “oh hell no!“.
Am I really that needy for caffeine? It must be so. This has been a Ryan Rose coffee update….

I know this is an older post, but I have a Starbucks comment specifically. Last week I got an iced mocha and it was perfect. Today I got one and it was not very good. My comment is that the taste of a drink at Starbucks varies considerably from store to store, and day to day. I wonder if anyone else would agree.
I haven’t noticed a significant difference in taste between locations. However, to qualify my “coffee palette”, my beverages of choice have been a “short triple mocha” and a “venti drip”. The short triple mocha is pretty hard to mess up since it’s mostly espresso with a splash of chocolate and milk. The venti drip is also pretty hard to screw up for obvious reasons.
