Being in the Search Engine Optimization industry, one of my ego driven pursuits is to rank #1 for my name. The domain www.ryantoddrose.com is relatively brand new and hasn’t established much trust or authority yet. However, in Yahoo, I’m ranking #3 and in MSN I’m ranking #21. Not bad for a domain that’s only a couple months old, few inbound links, and only a little content. My ranking in Google has improved from approximately #275 last week to#261 at the time of this post.
I went into this knowing that it will take some time to rank for my name in Google. Apparently for Google, I have some competition from Ryan Adams and a song that has “Rose” in the title. Also, there’s a journalist and a minor league pitcher to contend with. But that’s ok, I know that with Google patience is a requirement. Ryan Rose will prevail.

It seemed I had cornered the market on my name. I’ve been a member of the media for more than a decade (and not the guy writing for newspapers in Sacramento). I have been on radio and television and have been a small-time theater actor. But I do and have done nothing to market my own name, so I live off of others and what they publish for and about me .
You have taken it upon yourself to attempt to be the penultimate Ryan Rose. Touche’ Like you I am a foodie and will start posting blogs and tweets about my favorite places in the many cities I get to travel to. Just know that I’m gunning for you… I just did a search for me and the other mes out there and found a young female Ryan Rose living in Maryland. There are more of you to figuratively knock off. Good Luck to you as we climb the Ryan Rose mountain. I intend to get there first, but I welcome the challenge.
I forgot to mention a Ryan Rose that won a nice cash in a poker tournament in Atlantic City. Wish I could claim this one, but it wasn’t me.
